Looks like I'm the "victim" of another weak PS3 audio performance I really like all other aspects of the engines, but compared to every other engine I've got, this one seems to be at about half volumes. I have two other recent PS3 steamers and both of those can rattle the windows. The PS2 engines aren't too shabby either. The M1a is definitely a little "shy" when it comes to volume. Shame, because you would think with all the room in that tender they could put a decent size speaker in it. But then again maybe they did...
I just changed over to the M1a freight sounds - the engine came with passenger sounds originally, but these were virtually identical to a PS2 K4 I have, so I wanted something different. The sounds seemed louder with the passenger file in place. Maybe it's me, but I've really noticed the weakness with the freight file. So I guess it comes down to two questions:
- Are there different versions of the (freight) sound files available, and can one have more volume than another?
- Is it time for a speaker upgrade?
Technically, that's three
PS: I thought I saw something a while ago that mentioned resetting the engine could improve volume issues. Am I just nuts?
OK, so that's four...
Thanks for any input!!!
