Railsounds BCR - What value Capacitor is being used to replace a 9V battery used on the ERR and Legacy railsounds board

You need to buy a YLB - your last battery from Gunrunner John or Hennings.

The ERR does not have a battery charge function, so it will not charge the BCR super capacitor.

The YLB is basically a BCR, plus a battery charger to charge the BCR.

The YLB - RailSounds Battery Replacement is a product that replaces an alkaline battery in a locomotive with a battery clip, that includes all TMCC and some early Legacy locomotives with the modular RailSounds 5.5 or RailSounds 6.0 boards.

The YLB - RailSounds Battery Replacement (RS-Lite) is a product that replaces an alkaline battery for RailSounds Lite boards found in newer Legacy, starting around 2011 manufacturing date.  This unit plugs directly into the RS-Lite battery connector as many of the newer Legacy models no longer ship with the battery cable.

Each of these has a one-wire connection to the center rail power feed.

That was the whole reason I designed those, having a leaky alkaline battery in my engines and tenders bothered me.

     I like it John,

    A simple solution to a very messy problem. No more R&R the shell while trying not to knock the horn, sun visor, bell, or antenna loose. Don't pinch any wires and...

   The YLB I ordered from you today has a home in my MTH/SD-70 Conversion. I will be adding them to the rest of our Legacy Railsounds and ERR Cruise Commander Railsounds Lite Engines in short order.   

Good deal.   For the RS-Lite Legacy and ERR boards, you can use the RS-Lite version, it eliminates some a connector and just goes direct to the board.  Newer Legacy doesn't include any battery cable, so that's where the RS-Lite version really comes in handy, it's the only game in town.

How come one is not rev b.  Can't have same part numbers.

They can if I do them!   They have different product numbers, the Rev number is the board, it's the same board.
