I've looked and havent found any info on what the max currect rating of a RailSounds Lite board is. Anybody have an idea?

What do you mean "max current rating"? Are you talking about the output audio? It's rated at 8 ohms of output impedance, but I know of no "current rating".
The RS-Lite board has a overload limiter that cuts the audio to the output if the output power gets to high. We found that out when I discovered the reason for the H10 audio cutting out. Turned out the sound guy had programmed the volume of the sound file too high, so labored chuff and blowing the whistle would cause the sound to cut out when the limiter kicked in. Once I was able to replicate the issue, Lionel fessed up and offered to reprogram the boards for the proper sound output.
Sorry John, I was talking about the current it uses to operate the board. I know its track voltage of 18 volts for the input. But whats the (I'm assuming) the milli-amp (ma) current rating?
It takes a couple watts to operate the board when audio is active. I suspect that from the 18 volts it's not more than around 100ma since they use a switching power supply. I know that the RS-Lite board will operate several seconds with an add-on 2200uf cap across the existing dual 220uf filter caps.
Exactly what are you attempting to do?
Thinking about connecting it to a Mini-Commander EX, LC-1 with a pair of gearmotors (30ma No Load, 85ma max ea) to run EMD style cooling fans for my UP 2066 project. As long as everything adds up to less than 400ma continious, I'm good.
The smoke unit will go to LC-2.
