OGR Forum Moderator;

Please, if you would permit me to post the following:

I know and I'm sorry to rehash this Raymond Loewy 1947 Project 570 of P.RR. L.C.L. Merchandise Service 'PROPOSED' X40B 60ft. and X41B 50ft. box car schemes, but I want to answer Forum member Chris' 6 Apr. 2014 question and any other interested OGR Forum member, as to the design info. of said cars, as I came across the source info. to post here and now, putting this subject to rest.

As, far as I can find out, I BELIEVE, these cars were not prototypically produced(Unless I'm wrong).

The old post of the color photos. were evidently Loewy's rendition designs.

I obtained the info. from; "The Keystone" magazine of Spring, 1991, Copyright 1991, USPS 128-670, ISSN 0744-4036, Volume 24, Number 1, bottom of page 48, an 'Official Publication of the P. RR. Technical and Historical Society.

Respectfully,

Thank You,

Ralph

Hi Alan and thank you,

Regarding my post of Raymond Loewy's Proposed Project #570:

I now have info., which I did not have back in April of this year to fully answer both OGR Forum members: pro hobby and PRR Man.

I have posted on this thread and on the "3 Rail Scale" thread.

I did not intend to confuse anyone, but I thought some OGR Forum members might understand my message.

Respectfully,

Ralph

Rich has previously stated that threads are automatically locked after 6 months or something. If you send him a message and provide him a link, he said he would unlock them for anyone wanting to add to them. He said without the link the threads are difficult to find and they don't have time to hunt them down.

That is unless the moderators have locked the thread for other reasons besides the automatic time lapse.

Chris,

You are very welcome.

Early yesterday, I was going through some of my literature of the P.RR. and came across the magazine of Apr. this year, that the info. was in and I wanted to give you a better and complete answer.

As, it stands, I believe, there were NO prototype/real cars made up in the color paint schemes, as shown in the color photos., of Raymond Loewy's renditions of the X40B-60ft. and X41B-50ft. 'Proposed Project' #570, of P. RR's. L.C.L., M.S. box cars.

So far, I can not find any info. indicating that prototype cars were made.

Then again, I may be wrong!!!

Ralph
