I know the pic in the article is a rendering, but I don't know a single boston T station that looks that clean! 
The Springfield MA plant will be built along the CSX, ex-Conrail, - ex-B&A mainline so deliveries can be made by rail. That's a great modelling idea, a building for construction of transit vehicles and a line (or loop) to test them. Therefore you can have rapid transit without a city.
Its a shame that a foreign company is building trains for a United States government entity. Hopefully at least some US jobs will be created.
According to the local newspaper 150 construction jobs, 150-300 jobs in the plant, several hundred jobs for local suppliers.
Well the Japanese Co. Nippon Sharyo based out of Rochelle, IL. has been building bi-level commuter cars for various public transportation entities for years now...I can't help but think that Federal Funds are being spent for part of them.

When NKP 765 stopped in Jim Thorpe, I noticed that the center rail had been removed, presumably to placate the rivet counters.
