The advent of the LCS/ipad app has me thinking.

1) train with a camera and sound

2) application with added hardware has a built in web server

3) computer/3rd party app has a "full map of a persons layout.

4) I can run excursions on someones layout over the internet....viewing the layout via the streamed video/audio feed.

Remote layout owner can limit actions that are available on their layouts to a remote user-speed -switch control ,etc

5) I can play with my trains at work..

love the "share a layout online" idea! (first dibs on Lee's accessories if he's in!)

It could be the next internet sensation

Your own at work? Maybe include a tablet and extra stationary cameras on critical areas, and one of those controllable 120vac outlets to kill the power incase of catastrophic failure.

Hosting multiple controllable layouts per/hour online as money maker?

Scenic tracks, loading and unloading freight, switching challenges.

Dumber things make at least a little money.

But the sharing thing! The train hobby may do well to follow video games into "live" interactions. In many games the "live voice group" socialization is very appealing.

I say sharing online sounds fun. Best reason to "go digital" with my trains Ive ever heard.
