While working on my Garrett project (https://ogrforum.com/...tt-from-a-usra-0-8-0), I’m trying (and failing) to figure out how to remove the trucks from the tender frame. Is it really just brute forcing the clips off? They’re metal, so that doesn’t feel like the right solution here…

They are an "E" clip, they simply slide out of the matching groove.
It looks like there’s some type of ring on top of the clip keeping me from lifting the clip like in the video. Any ideas on how to get around that?

You just put a screwdriver blade in one of the slots inside the ring and twist. You use the other hand to hold the ring since it usually flies off and hides if you don't!
