Hello
I have the Lionel 6-11105 Mohawk. The front light no longer works. Is this easy to fix? Anyone changed it out?
Thanks

Lionel shows it as a 14v grain of wheat bulb (incandescent). They are shown as unavailable but a minitronics bulb should work.

You can also put in a much better looking headlight using a 3mm flangeless warm white or amber LED and a 470 ohm resistor. Looks great and more focused like a real headlight should be.

Hello
Hennings sent me some Led and resistor combos but snail mail flattened them to crumbs . Currently they are out. Any suggestions for another source?
Thanks
Evan Designs carries several options for LED's with built-in resistors. I have used a few for engine headlights with excellent results.

If you plan on attending York in April you can have Henning bring ot to the meet.
For an LED, you will have to add one more component, a .01uf capacitor directly across the light outputs of the R2LC. If you don't add this, the LED won't work properly. This could all be build into a harness that drops in to replace this existing light harness.

Can post a picture of your LEDs? Hard to imagine the Post office could crush them. You would have to hit them with a hammer to break them.

I've had that happen when I taped signal diodes to an index card and put them into a 1st class envelope...they run it thru rollers at the USPS. Powdered diode...
When I ship something like that, I cut out a slot in cardboard and use that in the envelope. Tape the item inside, I've never had an issue.
Ray, small wonder that it was destroyed! I think that's on the USPS.

I agree. Anyway I found them at Evans all set up for installation. A big thank you to Ron Arndt.
