I've looked up the Big Red Button via part number on the Lionel support site but don't see any components available.
Any idea where I could get a replacement wire/plug to solder onto the board and return this to service?

It looks like it is a standard 1/8" mono audio jack so it should be easy to replace with something like this: http://www.fullcompass.com/pro...tm_campaign=googleps
It's just a two-wire cord to a jack, as stated it should be very easy to fix.
