Replacing Lionel Decapod Tender Platform Help | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Hello all,

I recently received one of the new Lionel Decapods in the Seaboard scheme. In the catalog it was shown to have a normal size rear platform on the tender. But when it arrived, the rear platform looked more like a back porch! This is something the original MTH models had. However some of the other Lionel Decapods have the shorter rear platform, such as the Frisco model.

My question is how do I go about finding the part number for the shorter platform and shorter shank trucks? My physical manual does not have an exploded diagram of parts, nor does the Lionel website (at least that I could find.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated! This is a beautiful model, but that rear platform is just too big for my taste.

It's too new for them to have parts on website. Most likely you will have to call them. It takes years for them to get parts online.
