While a family was in town for the holidays the dad and three children came over to play trains. I tried to check out all operating accessories before they arrived and missed checking the 1961 Turbo Missile Launcher. The "barrel" wouldn't raise for sighting on the target and it had worked after being purchased new. No one has been around to break it in and it had to be forced to operate. After I compared the new one to my postwar one the new one just needed gear teeth lubricated. (I used Ivory bar soap to prevent a greasy mess.)
