Do most Legacy diesels in recent production have #8 as the reset code? Thanks for any info. RICH

Reset for more recent Legacy engines including diesels is just resetting the engine ID.
Once the RCMC electronics came along, the reset code disappeared in any that I've seen.
Sounds good to me. Less complicated doesn't happen much these days. Thanks men. RICH
The Legacy reprogram code for a diesel is number 2. The Legacy steam code is number 1. These reset codes apply only to early Legacy modular board sets. After the Legacy system went to the RCMC board (much better) , they set up as MartyE stated.
Thanks Marty. I have a Legacy Conrail SD40 #82283. On occasion will take off at full speed then abruptly stop. Cab light single blinks, takes a few resets to restore, then it's fine for a month or so. Been back to Lionel for part #6802274101, DC Motor/Flywheel/Sensor/M4VSE. Until it happens again it runs great and a reset will fix it temporarily. I won't bore anyone with my theories about why this happens. As long as a reset works we're OK. Thanks again everyone. RICH
