Spence,
I am legally retired from the US Army & United Technologies and have my own
Gun Dog/Fly Fishing Businesses which donate massive free time & training to all active and honorably discharged Military Veterans. We do not give back, we help and support
our US military families.

Retired Banker with one glass eye....... it's the one with any warmth in it!
I just love that one.
RETIRED From Jim's Train Shop 2010.
Did not realize it had been that long.
I am eligible in two, but will probably work 7 - 10 more years. There is only one milestone left after retirement and statistics show that more retired folks reach that milestone than those still working.

Just can't seem to pull the pin!
Been with the Missouri Pacific/UP for just over 40 years, but I am getting close, maybe by this spring or summer!
Still like what I do, but don't like the calls at all hours of the day or night, or holidays and such, but such is the life of a pool engineer.
And when that happens, my other job as secretary/treasure of a BLE&T division will also go, yea! Been doing that for almost 15 years.
My wife wishes it was last January, but, just not there, really don't know why I am staying! She says I will never quit!

retired 3/2014 because of medical issues been scraping by but been enjoying it age 59 soon 60 glad I did retired I could of kept working but things would of gotten worst mental stress wise so it was correct decision for me to make at the time and still feel it was correct decision don't regret it one bit. personaly if you can afford it and have income for rest of your life I would say do it as soon as you can but take into fact what you will do when you do it.
I'm "half retired, so I really help you "50%" statistic estimate.

I'm retired two years, but may have to find job to support my train habit.
Retired from government service for 7 years now. I was working 2 days/wk at a local public golf course and cut back to 1, now working that PLUS 2 days/wk at a local country club GC. These 3-day work weeks are killing me
RETIRED since June 28, 2001, and I was 58. Just turned 72 and I love it.
Retired but busier than ever.
Not retired with 1 full-time job and 2 part-time ones.......
Sleep is over-rated,
Fully, completely, and absolutely RETIRED!
Now I enjoy doing things I didn't have the time to do while working, especially tinkering with and operating toy/traditional 0 gauge trains.

Still working. I just ran the numbers yesterday. Only 5990 days to go. Woo-hoo!

Still working. I say Semi Retired.......... I know I'm not retired yet, because my new retirement plan is DEATH...................... And so if I answered this, well it means I'm not yet REtired.........................
I love working. I so enjoy my work environment and it keeps me mentally stimulated and in social contact with many people. Owning your own small company has it's advantages. I still get a paycheck and create my own work schedule. The % is probably 60% work 40% free time. My two sons run the company and put up with my BS. The only down side is they make me stand by the front door and welcome our customers.....
I'm either semi-retired or under-employed, and my attitude about which of those two conditions is correct can change from one day to the next...

Enjoy working on train layout, building Intermountain and Red Caboose Kits, painting and decaling cars and regressed to my pre-teen hobby painting and assembling US 1/48 scale warbird kits, had not built a plastic kit since 1963.
Worked 36 years from a job I loved, have been retired for eight years and loving it. Don
