I can't wait to get OUT!
Retired on June 30, 2014 from New York State. I had a very good job but I don't miss it, though I do miss the people. The good part, other than that every day is Saturday, is that someone was promoted to my supervisory position, another was promoted to his position, and a third was promoted to western supervisor. New people will be hired to do the jobs vacated by those promoted, so a lot of people have benefitted from my retirement. Plus, I get to do things I didn't have time for. In fact, we (the Mrs and me) are so busy we wonder how we had time to go to work. There is life after retirement and it is very good.
I try not to use 4 letter words WORK is one of them
RETIRED

retired 6 months ago
No plans to retire, but nature will take care of that eventually . Collecting social security as a spouse of a retiree, and eventually will collect in my own right if I make it to 70. Promises to keep and miles to go, etc.
Not retired, not even close as I'm in my mid 40s.
That said, my wife is really good with a checkbook and finances (and very low risk investments), so we'll probably be able to retire early, much earlier than our peers for sure.
Retired and "Riding The Wild Mary". Life is soooo good.
retiring in sixty-four days...can't wait!
Retired about 9 years ago when my employer was outsourcing IT jobs in the US and UK to Brazil, Poland, and China. I had 23 years with them and they offered me a very attractive retirement package that I just couldn't refuse.
I retired, Dec. 2, 2014 after 371/2 years as a locomotive engineer, sure miss running engines....

Retired from work, but doing elder care every day.

Plan A: Retire tomorrow after winning tonight's Mega-Millions or Saturday's Power Ball.
If I hit, I'll be at York, spending my new found money on trains.
Plan B: Work another 5.9 years. Keep on running my post war trains.
At 68 still working. Right now I have the best job I ever had.
Not retired or even close. Hey Spence, you seem cool, I'll work on your layout for beer and a couch for the night...
I wish I was working! Got laid off last month and looking for work.
In 6 days it will mark my 3rd year of retirement after 40 yrs in the FD. I do miss the people and sometimes the job even though I still volunteer at times. I can't do it as much as I would like to since I have been dealing with medical issues for the last couple of years.
But all in all I enjoy being retired, where else can I go and get paid for sleeping, eating or what ever I want to do. Some of the people at work always told me that I would make more being retired then working. And they were right I do make more.
I do have a couple of businesses but I can do them at my pace now.
28 years of service at UPS,19 more to go.

Oh No, another question to answer.
Now 68 and
55% WORKING
45% RETIRED
Hoping the top number keeps on getting smaller.
I'll retire the day after I die. Need to get paid for the day I die.

Only 24 years of age, so barring winning the lottery before I hit 65, I'll be working for the next 41 years or so. Working at a TV station is quite stressful, so hopefully it does not effect my health too bad.
Retired (X).
The older guys in my train group thank me for paying for their Social Security.
I figure I can retire in about 40 years, assuming I don't hit the lottery or become the next Mr. Deeds.
For now, I'm just going to focus on getting full-time employment.
Not retired or even close. Hey Spence, you seem cool, I'll work on your layout for beer and a couch for the night...
Worked 44 years for the same company, now retired for 7 years, I love it now but it did take me some time to adjust to it. If I remember correctly about 12 aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! seconds. Never looked back.

Hey Spence how you doing? I am retired. Blessed to have time to sail, fish, Model railroad and most important be a grandfather for 5 months!
still working and plan to for 6-10 more.
Still working, as I have for the past 31 years, with the U.S. Food & Drug Administration.
I become eligible for retirement next January (2016) when I turn 56, as I'll have 32 1/3 years of service, but I plan to keep working for 7 more years until I turn 62.
I love my job, having worked as an investigator, supervisory investigator, drug program expert, and now a senior drug program expert. Met my lovely wife (we will have our 25th anniversary next year) when I was stationed in Puerto Rico. In addition, I have travelled the world doing inspections (audits) of pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.
