Can I use the Legacy v1.3 fobs that I used to update my command base and Cab2 to update someone else's? Or are they limited to the number of times or systems they can be used with? Thanks.

You can use them many times. I did mine, the clubs and many club members bases and remotes wih the same chip.

Of course, with 1.4 out now, and 1.5 coming soon, you may want to consider black modules.
Note that early Legacy systems have to go back to Lionel for updates the first time.
Thanks. Good to know I can re-use them on my system and others'. I have yet to update to 1.4. We all use Macs. Don't really feel like buying Parallels just for this. Have to dig out the old Dell D810 and try it with that. I'm pretty sure it is XP SP3. With five Macs in house, Dells and BlackBerries are collecting dust. It's true, once you go Mac you won't go back and I was a PC/BB user since day one until last year. My son has Parallels on his new 15" MBP, but that's at college now. I found it interesting that on page 4 of the Lionel System Utility Manual it says - - "To use the full functionality of the LSU software, LEGACY Software version 1.5 should be installed on your CAB-2 and LEGACY Base.' v1.5? Foreshadowing?
1.5 is supposed to be released this fall. We're into the fall, so I'm hoping it's soon.
