My REV L TIU is not working. The number 1 fixed voltage input and output measure as a dead short on each side. I powerer the TIU with a Wi-Fi box and ran power thru the fixed 2 ports but when I put power thru the TIU my Proto 3 engine would only run in conventional. Can any of the members that are trained MTH service techs fix this problem or does it need to go back to MTH? I also have Mustang Todd's handheld that started off with poor contrast and now has no display. My email is in my info. Thanks Bruce

Bruce,
I power the TIU with a Wi-Fi box and ran power thru the fixed 2 ports
The problem is that the WIU is not an effective power source for the TIU. It doesn't supply enough power to do much of anything except light up the TIU's red LED.
You need to do one of the following:
- Provide a suitable power source to the TIU's Aux. Power port.
- Provide track power to Fixed #1 Input.
- Move your track power from Fixed #2 Input to Fixed #1 Input and move your tracks from Fixed #2 Output to Fixed #1 Output.

Bruce,
Sounds like the TVS diodes are at fault on at least one of your channel inputs. You probably do not have adequate power to run the tiu. Yes, trained MTH techs can help. You can find the nearest tech by using the MTH website.

Thanks Barry. I plugged in the 500 power suply to the Aux power input port and the TIU worked with fixed 2 ports. The WiFi box has powered the TIU up to now. HOWEVER the #1 fixed input and output ports ARE dead shorts. Can Marty or George or John have the parts to fix this problem and the hand held remote with no display? Thamnks Bruce
The TIU is a fairly easy repair, about 95% of these are the TVS protection diode shorted.
The remote is a different matter, it's difficult to say without seeing it if that's an easy fix or not. Does the remote work at all, or is it completely dead?
I can fix the TIU, the handheld can be more problematic. Though I have replaced displays before. But it may also require a mod depending on what year it is. G
Make sure your inputs to the TIU and the outputs to the tracks are in phase. I ran into that a while back when I was rerouting some wiring
