What do you want to know? There are several types. The most common one is the drum unit that is very simular to the Lionel E-unit. It uses a drum with finger contacts and a magnet with a little paw to turn the drum. It comes apart easily enough and replacement parts are readily available. The hardest part seams to be the wiring as it seams that Flyer never seemed to standardise on whether to reverse the field or the brushes to reverse the motor. The other problem is the appearent desire to connect a lot of wires to some of the contacts. At least they are easy to take apart and reassemble since you cannot check the proper operation until they are fully assembled.
When replacing reverse unit fingers, instead of 'muliple wires on one connection', I install one end of a short wire to the eyelet. Then the wires that were in the eyelet connect to the other end of the short wire.
