Lionel Three Rivers "Buckeye region" caboose #6-36659 - Built date 2010

This model is a very nicely detailed modern version of the classic Lionel "porthole" caboose. The caboose features sprung trucks, lighted interior, underbody detail and a "conductor" in the cupola. The body features the original rivet detail including the rivet strip under the portholes.  The car is also missing a roof top smoke jack.  (See the prototype photo.)

The car color is painted bright red instead of the traditional Tuscan red color.

A nice looking cabin car (caboose) but someone at Lionel doesn't know their geography very well as evidenced by "Buckeye" Region on this caboose which was included in the Three Rivers Set.  They have made several cabooses like that lettered for the Pittsburgh Region and there couldn't be a more appropriate set to include a caboose lettered for the Pittsburgh Region.

Agreed.  The Buckeye Region is NOT three rivers in the Pittsburgh area.

Here is a Lionel Pittsburgh caboose but it lacks the rivet detail and Tuscan paint.

I have that cabin car you just posted and since we’re counting rivets, here’s yet another Red Lionel PRR “Pittsburgh Region” cabin car with apparently the same level of rivet detail as the first one you posted.  It is illuminated however it doesn’t have sprung trucks, underbody detail and an employee’s figure in the cupola.  Note that the last digit is one number higher than the number on the second one you posted.

This Lionel model 6-36653 has correct lettering for a "three rivers" model including an actual PRR road number.

Model 6-36659 is a later issue car. Why they changed the lettering on this one is unknown.
