re: 785 AF coaling station

I bought one of these a few years back.  I had always wanted this ever since I first saw one 60+ years ago. The sides of  the tower had smoke damage.  The motor had caught fire!  Missing the controller; I bought it to tinker with. To may amazement and delight, I got the motor running after I removed the wrong string that was way too thick and wound tight.  Installed the correct string.  A couple of drops of oil and away she went! .  I was able to get the clam bucket working by soldering  new wires.  I got all the functions working.  I was DEE lighted!    However,  I have to use 2 different controllers.  I had to wire the dump button separately. Certainly not the end of the world, but every time I walk by it, I am reminded.  Today, I came across a schematic from portlines.com/clinics-27.  pictures attached.  This will be my next project.   All the best and Happy railroading!  LenAF 785 001AF 785 002AF 785 003AF 785 004AF 785 005AF 785 007AF 785 008AF 785 006AF 785 009AF 785 013

I assume you noticed, the wiring connections on the underside of the button in the first picture do not match the PortLines wiring diagram. The green and red wires need to be swapped. The yellow wire on the button rear brass strip connects to the transformer 15V post, the yellow wire on the second terminal from the right connects to the bucket solenoid and the yellow wire next to the two black wires connects to the bin door solenoid. One black wire from the button connects to the transformer base post, the other black wire connects to a brush tube along with the two solenoid black wires.
