Having scanned and read a number of posts referring to "earth ground", The only agreement is that there is almost no agreement on the subject. these many months later, can I get a general opinion on some issues?
1 Does a loop in the earth ground wire cancel out the ground effect?
2 Is a single wire between two parallel tracks sufficient or does each track require it's own
wire?
3 In the very early stages of TMCC use, it was common knowledge that signal problems
through metal bridges or scenery using wire or metal framework were correctable by the
addition of an earth ground wire to the metal. True or false?
4 I am adding scenery now, and have found a process for making tunnel liners from aluminum
foil. Although I assume I will need to Earth ground the foil, is there any special problem
associated with having the track almost completely encased in the foil?
5 I saw one statement in an old post on the earth ground subject stating that Legacy has
fewer signal problems and less need for an earth ground than TMCC. True or false?
Hope these questions don't start any arguments as threads on this topic have tended to do
in the past.
