I have been watching this cam for sometime. And it seems there  just about everyday there is a track crew at the Diamond. First which railroad works on the crossover, does it depend on which railroad track needs the work. Second with all the rail traffic do the crossovers wear out quickly. Thanks Paul

No, it more likely could be "a joint maintenance responsibility", i.e. BNSF "works" it one year, and UP "woks" it the next year.

Second with all the rail traffic do the crossovers wear out quickly.

Obviously,,,,,,,YES!

Thanks Paul

I remember seeing pictures of them doing a full on replacement of all four diamonds some years ago. I want to say maybe 12 years.  Quite the project as they lifted and placed one huge panel, with those side boom Cats. They built the unit on site, then once they made the first cut, they were back up and running in under a day.
