What an incredible person Ron was! He certainly accomplished a lot in his life which must have been very fullfilling for him personally. I really knew nothing about him except for his book All Aboard, which I loved reading and still reference the book on occasion. My condolences to his family. Thank you for posting.
I am paying tribute to Ron in my Editor's Corner column in our next issue. I can honestly say that were it not for his book, I most likely would not be involved in the O gauge segment of the hobby today, and I almost certainly would not be the editor-in-chief of OGR, a post I have held for 15 years now. His influence will be with me always.
Rest In Peace. His book brings back many happy memories for me.
Hi all,
When we got home from Trainstock on Saturday, the current issue of the Train Collectors' Quarterly was in the mailbox. In skimming it quickly, I spotted mention of Ron's recent passing in the editor's column. Another great loss to our hobby!
The first time I read his book, I'd borrowed it from our local public library and enjoyed it very much. I've reread it several times over the years. I'm glad Ron had been writing some articles in the Quarterly recently, too.
Condolences to his family and close friends. He'll be missed.

Somehow I missed this report. Found out today in the new “TCA Quarterly” magazine. Ron was a giant in O-gauge railroading and his contributions - especially his excellent historical writings on the subject - were invaluable to our hobby.
May he rest in peace. Condolences to his family and many friends.
Wow! Just reading this! I can credit his "All Aboard" book as one of the reasons I got into the hobby in 1989 or so.
He will be missed!
Rest in Peace.
Condolences to his family
RIP. NO one could convey the magic of toy trains like Ron. Now to go back and re-read the books and the articles. He will be missed!
RIP
After reading Alan Miller's Editorial in the current issue of OGR I learned of Ron Hollander's passing.
Ron Hollander was featured prominently in the History Channels Trains Unlimited Series where they featured Model Trains. I recorded that show in VHS and have watched it many times.
After watching that show I bought the Hard Cover Copy of All Aboard, which I have enjoyed reading many times.
May his family and friends treasure and cherish his memory and let it be a source of peace and comfort. May his memory be a blessing.

All Aboard is a treasure! :-)
I met Ron back when he first joined TCA in 1978. Enjoyed talking to him over the years at York and reading his detailed stories of growing up and adventures. One of the first books I purchased was "All Aboard" and use it all the time as a reference. R.I.P Ron.
An interesting life, for sure. And it's only now I'm aware of his book. Order placed!
