The shipping date on the Round-Roof box cars has been again pushed back. Now it is October last month it was pushed to September. Really looking forward for these all four of the PRR ones. Oh well just the way these things are!

Yup, I'm waiting for them too! Hope it doesn't turn into April!

PRRron: So which round roof cars are you referring to? Weaver came out with a really nice B&O "wagontop" box car that was a real hit about a year or so ago. Very nice car and I bought at least a half a dozen of them.
Are we talking about the same thing?

No.
I have an S.D. and D.D. on the list.
New Lionel tooling.
Round roof & wagon tops are totally different.
Who else has Round-Roof box cars cataloged and rescheduled?
always best to be sure.
For those not familiar with the cars here's the web site. http://lionelllc.wordpress.com...-round-roof-boxcars/
Unfortunately train prices have more than doubled in less than 2 years.
Many of us have reduced spending when common cars passed the $35.00 mark.
I don’t mind paying 70 to have 1 or 2 unique cars like this and for the horizontal rib cars.
I would expect this for new tooling of O cars not available to us in the past.
Companies would sell more volume if the prices were lowered.
I guess they are content with just a few small runs.
I don't believe in paying that price when a company continues to re-use old molds made by someone else that’s been paid for many times over like Intermountain.
Kind of like still paying a toll on an old bridge with an ongoing price increase.
Companies riding on the shoestring of others who actually made the mold years ago are ripping us off at $70.00 a car.
That’s the problem I have.
The Seaboard DID NOT have these cars.
As usual, the Seaboard had round-roof cars that were different. The number of side panels is different as are the ends and bottom sill:
Close but no cigar.
(Why oh why did I have to like the SAL?!?!?!)
I'd spend $70 on a car IF it was accurate.

Probably for the same reason I've been gravitating to the PC worm of death.

As Sirt says paying extra bucks for two to four truly unusual unique cars is just the way it is. If you want the different stuff you "got to pay the price." Die blocks for our O-Scale trains can cost north of $100,000.00 so you have to have the numbers to pay the investment over a reasonable period of time or higher sales prices. Other wise we DON'T get this nice stuff.
I recall several of us bought the Weaver B&O wagon-tops a while back.
