Guys. Planning to obtain a ps2/3 board with 5volt connectors. To replace this dead board.  I have seen ps3 rs27 engines with smoke units.  I wonder how they did it? See my shell.  Anybody have a ps3 rs27 that can show me how it's done?  It won't have the battery. So I thought well maybe it fits around there. And new board is not as tall.

I am going off memory here but the early PS-1 RS had a smoke unit with a plastic tube to get it in position.  Not a lot of room, and since your going to use a PS-32 board, while no battery, you have a bigger foot print than the 5V board.  I think the small smoke unit attached to the roof of shell may work, but the board clearance will be critical.  G
