I have a RTR SD70ACE Diesel Freight Set PS2 engine that has been "creeping" out of its parking area in a single track yard I set up for it to park in. It happens randomly about 5 minutes after i start playing with my trains. Usually i'll be running two trains on two seperate main lines and the SD70ACE Diesel starts pulling out on its own going about 1-2 SMP which makes it hardly noticable. A couple days ago i was running a couple trains really fast like those old lionel showroom videos, i'm guessing 60 SMP and my RTR 4-6-0 Steam Freight / Passenger Set PS3 slammed into the front end of my SD70ACE Diesel engine which cause the steam engine to and several passenger cars to fly off the track. I'm very fortunate that both engines seem fine after that. Unfortunately the diesel engine is still "creeping" out of its yard randomly which has me understandably on edge as i'm running my trains. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks - Mike

I have had this happen when there is a spark on the circuit, as when a running train derails, or when I send a signal to another loco, usually to a spcific loco, indicating to me a possible garbling of ID #.  Latter was cured by changing loco ID#.

I like to leave sidings powered even when they contain a shut down loco, to charge batteries.

I too had this happen. I really forgot about it so it must be fixed???

I believe what was happening for me is a loco would get a check track message when signal was bad (or battery was dead on a problem engine). The loco would not respond correctly and would not change directions or accelerate. I believe the system left the speed at 1 or 2 MPH on the loco? Communication was lost and the locos crept? The remotes would show 0 MPH but the engines were stuck accelerating from the last command they understood.

When signal was good the problem didn't show up. When I had a TMCC product effect the signal, engines would creep, check track and error messages would pop up.

I have been working on correcting the RR's signal problems. Too many engines or signal eaters had to be removed (or fixed). The creeping problem never came back? Joe
