I have been having an interesting ping-pong series of emails with CR regarding what S options they'd stock.

My initial email asked if they would be stocking the MTH S-trax system and the reply was that they won't  be as they already stock three track options. These are the Lionel fastrack, Lionel/Flyer tinplate and Gargraves.

Of the three only the Lionel Fastrack is a near enough complete system while the others are very limited, like the Lionel tinplate which is straights only and as for the Gargraves, this is also limited to the long straight sections only with a couple of switches available and non of the various curved radius sections which can be found on the Gargraves site itself.

So these are the reasons why CR wil not be offering either MTH or AM track systems, yet when we look at the CR O gauge track options we se at least four choices. I feel that CR is being a bit biased on options to the S gauge community and can only surmise why they are reluctant to stock other options.

It is interesting to see that they are stocking near enough all the other items of S gauge from MTH though at competitive prices.

Hello, Charles Ro would probably order any of the MTH S gauge  track you wanted as they have indicated in their price sheet on the last page.

Another option is to buy directly from MTH at their online store:

http://mthtrains.shptron.com/c/mth-s-gauge_accessory_s-trax?pp=8&pg=1

At present their "pre-order" track appears to be discounted 12% from list.

I don't know what they'll do when they actually have the product but I'm guessing they'll charge list price unless maybe you are a member of the new S gauge club from MTH.

Charles Ro's car prices seem to be 20-25% off list so maybe their track price would be similarly discounted.

Mark
