The custom built Mikados care of The Kelly Creek Backshop have Falhauber motors, ball bearing drives fabulous full state of the art detailing. Incredible finishing in weathering simply they are some of the finest steam locomotive models out there. Sadly the pilot wheels on the lead unit developed a buzz that last video you can hear; how embarrassing ;-) A little oil and she'll be good as new. It has taken me a long long time to gather enough tankers to complete the consist. This was all I could fit in the car I have roughly 70 cars for the train.

Beautiful long train!
I have to ask, who makes that LS NYC steamer?
Looooong train. Who imported the mikes? Unless I counted the wheels on the engines wrong.
Keep the photos coming. Thanks for sharing.
Merry Christmas.

Please explain the track arrangement - I don't understand 4 rails on same ties.
Thanks, Harmon

Anxiously await the explanation.

Harmon,
This layout utilizes Gargrave multi gauge track. The center track that Erik is running on is standard Gargraves Phantom line track. The inside track is a combination O with a fourth rail to the outside that is gauged for S gauge. The outside track is 5 rail with a common center rail and a set of O and a set of Standard Gauge rails which allows you to run both gauges on the same track.
I forgot to mention it is wired for either 2 rail or 3 rail operation which is what allows Erik to run 2 rail trains on this track. It is a little sloppy and some of the higher end stuff shorts out from time to time but for the most part it runs fine. The curves on the center line is 12 foot diameter and there is a mild .8% climb and a 1.8% decent in the direction Erik was running. I am planning to install a 2 rail O and On3 track next for the high end stuff that doesn't like the Gargraves.
