Went to a garage sale and picked up a neat O scale UPS truck today! When i got it home ,I thought it was battery operated because the rear wheels were locked up.When i took it apart i was surprised to find that it is actually a friction drive ,which is not really that common nowadays.I pulled the wheels and after oiling the gears and bushings got it to work. Not a bad score for 50 cents!

Can you tell who made it?
Well the bottom is marked INDESIGNS GLOBAL,INC/OVERLAND PARK,KS/USA.Made in China RN#123408PO#1921476 Shantou,China/May 2011.In addition it indicates it was made exclusively for UPS.
For 50 cents, nothing matters as to who or where it was made. You can't buy practically anything for fifty cents today. God find, and a great buy!
Cool it is. and the video shows it has that authentic UPS engine knock, too. There is tremendous pleasure in picking up a bargain like that at a garage sale. Good deal!
It was probably in a UPS employee "trinkets" catalog.
Excellent find!

Watch out Spence doesn't come over and borrow it
I agree Ben, once Spence sees this, it is all over but the shouting.

The UPS package car model has been made for a long time. The one sitting on the box in the photo goes back to the mid 1980s.It has the old logo on it and says UPS 1977 on the bottom. The new one is the same size, but with all new tooling and graphics.I don't think it is exact O scale, but the truck looks close enough with the O scale UPS figure in the photo.
Here are some more photos of the model UPS vehicles I have and the real one I drive at work.
