Thanks to all that made it out to the house last night for a great evening of trains and shooting the bull. I think everyone had a great time, my son even managed to stop by and visit with us all, thanks Mike!! It was a very good day yesterday spending time with my train buddies. My wife wanted me to say thanks to everyone who took the time to come in the house and look at my wife's dollhouse that we are building together. Thanks everyone!!

Tom, don't worry I can sweet talk my wife into baking another cake when you are able to come over, I will make sure you get your piece and Chets piece!!

John, looking forward to coming over this Sunday to see your layout, the pics you showed me last night looked fantastic, see ya Sunday!

Alan, thanks for the kind words on the steel structure. The area behind the building is earmarked for another facility which is going to be a "pickle line" for anyone that may read this and don't know what that is, it is a operation in a steel mill where a coil of steel is basically unwound and run throught the pickle line to clean the surface of the steel using a acid bath. Then at the end of the pickle line the coil is rewound and shipped off to the next step which could be possibly say, a galavanize line to coat the steel for protection. Alan I have seen your work in many pictures over the years and it looks first class!! We actually have another decent size area on the layout that has a oil facility on it.

I have posted a few pictures from last night.

Thanks all,

Jeff James

Tom,i have some extra sheets of plywood&some hinges you could use for a door--already painted white. Also--don't think any of the Greenville gang is going to Cranberry.   Hey Jeff, here i am-- gettin' blamed again--wasn't me who put that bikini clad posing model with the Bessemer F-unit on the wall, but she does make a nice addition if i have to say so myself, maybe she can stop in and sign the wall next to her picture.   Chet

Here are some scratch built structures I made . I have molds to cast many of the components. Many are shallow relief to fit most layouts , in the Gator Salt picture I also did the back drop painting. I have designed many molds to be able to interchange parts. The NJ Highrailers and Ben Fiorello has aquired many of these structures recently for additions to the already incredible layout.

Hey Charlie , you are correct the double track lift bridge , the ship, the Gator salt structure , the wharf building and another wharf building plus the dock side crane which is used to remove sand from the holds of the ship , they mine the sand or remains of coquina shell in the ocean for concrete . If you ever get to Cape Canaveral , go to Rusty's bar and you can see it right across from  Rusty's , kind of like a huge vacuum cleaner is what one fella told me . Anyway I have been dealing with Ben for many years , he is a great guy , as all the people of the club that I have met going back to the start with Bernie  and Marty , they are super cool and have been to my Florida shop many times.
