I couldn't help but notice more than a couple of scale wheel PS2 engines popped up for sale on the auction site. I fear, I could guess who's they might have been. A prominent member here that recently passed away.
Anyways, I usually see 1 or 2 2 rail engines listed and now it's more like a dozen. Cycle of life I guess but I'm sad, .... even if I'm wrong.

Sadly, it's part of the time line. I have a couple I'm pretty sure came out of estate collections. At some point mine will go out the same way.
Whenever I walk around train shows, I wonder the same thing. We're all going to meet the same fate, we're just trying to delay it as long as possible.
I’m always sad when I hear about a fellow train guy passing g away even if I didn’t know them. I used to be one of the younger guys in this hobby but now I am older trying to put off the inevitable like John said. I hope the good Lord gives me enough time to build a layout before that happens.
I looked on that site and dang Joe is right. A lot of scale wheel engines and the prices aren’t terrible. I saw one or two that I like but nothing that I have to have.
Honor those that have left us by enjoying what you’ve got,……I have pieces from friends that have passed on to the lord, and I use those pieces with a smile, knowing they’re just as happy the pieces are being enjoyed…….

Well said Pat. I have some locomotives from Gordon Whitlock and Lorell Joiner and a bridge from Frank Miller’s layout. I also have a small coal car from John Armstrong. I cherish those pieces and would not sell them no matter what.
I like these posts. I feel better now. 
I as well have a number of pieces that came the collections of friends who passed on. These items have special meaning and remind me of that individual when I run them. I often am reminded of memories that also involve that particular train.
Joe, I’m one of the younger guys and I have greatly appreciated the opportunity to pick up some of the pieces offered in that collection by Trainz and want you to know that I’ll treasure them. It’d be great if you know who it was to do a memorial post so that we can all share our memories of that member.

I looked for an NKP Diesel 2 rail engine I sold him years ago but didn't see it. I would have loved to offer his spouse a check for his collection, if I had planned better for it. I think that leads to some sort of guilt trip for me. I always have to remember, you can't have them all! 
Sooner or later, I too will pass and can only hope someone gets to enjoy these toys. Carry on.
I bought a G scale MTH engine from "the other Ray" before he passed. I too, treasure running that unit in memory of him.
Years ago John bought some MTH stuff before MTH had the 3/2 engines and he had Joe F convert them all. I forget which engines they were except I remember he bought two E44s in Pennsy. Or perhaps the 3/2 engines were available at that time and it was just that the E44s weren't available in the 3/2 format? I'm not sure. John was a great guy with a really great collection. I would love to have a piece from his collection to remember him by but I don't have any knowledge of what happened to the collection.
I forgot about him working with Joe F on several engines. He shared some of them here I think.
