RMT BEEF's created from Kline E-8A diesel shell cut in half with new ends. One former Kline E-8 shell made BEEF A unit and BEEF B unit. Mounted on RMT BEEP chassis. These items are no longer in production having been made over 10 years ago.

Very nice, Arnold. But, you don’t believe in baggage/express cars? I was just wondering where the passengers put their baggage. 🤔

Vern, I have the baggage car but seldom run it because those metal passenger cars are heavy and I don't want to unduly stress the locomotive. The passengers on my railroad need to travel light. LOL, Arnold
My 2023 Texas Special set Lion Chief powered FT A unit and the 2010 Texan add on B unit. Differences in painting the bottom of the doors. Also slight red color differences, B unit is darker. Which is good, since the B unit acts as a transition and blends the new Texas Special FT unit and passenger cars in the set. Passenger cars are a little darker/duller than the shinny red on the engine.
I got the B unit for a low price a few years ago. Now that there is a new engine they can be used with, I expect the low price for the B unit will be no more.

Here is one of my favorite pieces, not original, but a re-painted unit beautifully executed by the late Robert (Bob) Milli. I was fortunate to get this at an online auction earlier this year. Love the details and color scheme, modern era paint on an Postwar style F unit, he got it all right in my humble opinion.
Happy New Year everyone!! Rick

My recent purchases of post war F3's. The Texas Special is my second set, the NYC is 2354 . The Walbash has a little battery damage to frame.

That is an excellent rendition of the NJDOT paint scheme. 3rd Rail offered E8s in this scheme on the first run and sadly they got cancelled. If they end up on a second run, I'll be getting a pair. I watched these run past my house many, many times during my youth and during the summer months with the windows open, you could hear the 567 prime movers approaching miles away with the distinctive growl that the former CNJ 645 powered units didn't quite have. A great find!
Dos anyone have Illinois central F3s or similar style diesels hauling the City of New Orleans passenger cars.?
I am enamored with the song City of New Orleans and would love to see a video of the City of New Orleans rolling down the line. Arnold
Arnold - I posted a City of Miami pulled by Milwaukee Road F units a couple of months ago. An IC brown/orange F3 set is on the wish list, but the F3 painted for the Miami would be even better.
Great shots everyone! Enjoy!

A New Haven DL-109 and a B unit head a coal drag bound for Cedar Hill in New Haven. The NH never purchased B units but the green and gold painting was too much pass up.

Happy New Year Arnold. I have not run The City of New Orleans yet but she sits on the top shelf in my train den. My MPC F3's were canabilized by a previous owner and now have but a single motored chassis so it is doubtful if she could pull the aluminum cars. I'm on the lookout for a set of E units to replace the with eventually...

Very nice, C. Sam.
I already have way too many trains for my 35 foot by 4 foott layout and limited space, but I could go for the City of New Orleans passenger train with Illinois Central F3-like diesels, especially if it was an MTH Proto 3 that I could run on DCS through my 031 curves.
Then, I could run it with the recording of the great City of New Orleans song playing in the background. Arnold
This is related to my post immediately above.
One could make layout scenes based on the lyrics of the City of New Orleans song and have the City of New Orleans passenger train running through those scenes while the song is playing.
For instance, the layout scenes could include these images in Steve Goodman's lyrics: "rolling past the houses, farms and fields; passing towns that have no name, freight yards full of old black men; graveyards full of rusted automobiles."
