Siding suggestions for structures | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I would like to scratch build an icing warehouse for an icing facility and looking for suggestions on economical siding. I have been pricing some of the pre-made products and they are $10 a sheet. Are there any common around the house products that can be used to simulate this?

You can scribe a sheet of thin balsa wood to good effect.

If you are more ambitious, try one of the textured heavyweight artist's papers, like Strathmore 400 Series Acrylic Paper. Paint and weather the paper before cutting it, then slice it into thin clapboard-sized strips and glue it onto foam core.
