Do any of our western RR brothers or sisters know if the Petticoat Junction loco has completed its overhaul and been put back in service? The last I could find was it was taken out of service in 2022 for inspection. It has an interesting story with Clint Eastwood as one of the principles in getting it back in service years ago.

I recently saw it on an old episode of "The Lone Ranger" TV series (S5 E12 "The Twisted Track") where they apparently used some excess footage shot for the film "Kansas Pacific" combined with some train footage shot for the show. I didn't realize it was the Sierra #3 until I started digging around.
The most recent information on it that I could find was from August of last year when they were starting the FRA inspection/overhaul.

One of my favorite engines, with its oddly-spaced drivers (necessary for the firebox). Really a beautiful locomotive, either in her original form or dolled up for Hollywood. Spent a good bit of time sitting on the fireman's side at RailFair 1999.
