Have a Lionel c-420.  that smokes like it should , but at a high voltage in neutral, ( PW- Zw-275)

naturally have to drop voltage down, to 8,9, or so: Or it will fly off of the track around the

several curves. and then smoke  drops to Nil.  How do you improve voltage on a track,to improve smoke while in motion. ?

I have added a bunch of weight in box cars, 2nd lockon,on other side of layout, .............

thanks

Dale,

I know I have seen this link from you , on other occasions, ( I remember the chain)

idea.  Did not have a clue what you were talking about then,  BUT, DO NOW.  Thank

you.  You must have the patience of Job (biblical individual).  I will work on this during the rainy fall season, But, I wonder, there has to be, many people, with the same, issue, that dont fix, or  does the NEW, remote systems take care of this!

thanks

I agree with Russell, you do not have this problem in command. I assume you were running conventional by your description. I run only conventional and use the diode strings.

MTH engines in general smoke a lot better than Lionel ones, but some Lionel ones are OK. If you up the voltage in neutral and it smokes well, the diode fix should improve things. If you do it 4 or 5 pairs should work.
