Rebuilding the smoke unit on a Lionel 060 and wondered what people have used as a wire covering for the wire that goes into the top of the unit? Looks like a fiberglass sleeve but I have no idea where to look for it. Especially in such a short length that is needed. Any help would be appreciated.

Go to a hobby shop (if you can find one...) or an electrical supply store and pick up some heat-shrink tubing. You can also find assortments at the big-box stores. I've had success using it to insulated the "hot" side of the resistor.
