Nice trackwork! Thank you for the photo. I get a lot of pleasure looking especially when I'm at a standstill in my 2rail right now.

How does the Marcway track do as far as operation? Last year I talked to the USA marketer of Marcway located in Florida,but I never bought any of their turnouts. Am seriously looking at Signature Switches located in the USA. Pricewise,they seem to have a very nice product.

Looks like a pretty nice effort to me! You mention you live in west Oz. If you are anywhere near Perth, you might try and look up one of your mates by the name of Neville Rossiter. He wrote articles for "O Scale Trains" magazine andwas a presence on the Yahoo "OTrains" List. Nice fellow.

I have not used Signature Switches but have seen some good reports about them.

I use a mixture of Marcway and Peco as I travel to England most years to see my son and his family and I usually get to a few shows over there and pick up the odd turnout.

Everything else on the layout comes from the USA.

Anyway it's just a name who cares it's the trains I'm interested in.

I am posting a couple more photos of Marcway turnouts and Peco track from my Railroad which is really just a freight line or Industrial RailRoad or Belt line it can be called many things.

Now I get it! When I saw the first pic of the Marcway I was thinking "My, that ballast and ground cover looks a lot like Neville's... ". 

Being a whingeing Pom (now in Canada), I am familiar with Marcway's products - I have a 3-way curved turnout in staging which has worked perfectly for almost 20 years with Tortoise power.

Neville: I wanted to say that watching your excellent layout developing over the years has been a great source of inspiration to me. Thank you!!

I like the fact that you made the street on your layout wide enough for travel and parking as I see many layouts streets just wide enough for movement. Yes, and the switch and scenery with it looks great.

Roo, I see yu have several autos on the lot that aren't race/hot rod types. Where did you find them and what scale are they. $$$?

Because I live at the end of the earth I buy all my die cast vehicles from the USA mostly from Die Cast Direct because they are very good with international mail orders I have never had a package not delivered.

I suppose they give the same service in the USA as well can't see why not.

Pete, Butch, I go through phases and close the computer down and go out in the bush walking for a few weeks I struggle with forums but here everyone seems to get along with each other there doesn't seem to be any negativity or aggression.

I buy a lot of items off eBay because of where I live and some forums really rubbish them I don't have a problem with them.

Anyway lets keep it to trains I have already said to much.

Here are a couple of photos I have just snapped to make up for the talk there are lots of buses in the street, I am using the layout to store them while I build a Bus Station Diorama!

I will snap a photo of the Bus Station progress and post it here in the next couple of days.

I'm glad you brought the signs up.

They were made for me by a good American friend of mine Ed Bommer who also happens to be a first class modeller I am sure you either know him or heard about him.

Ed has actually been to the BRHRR I spent a 3-4 days with him when he came to Perth a few years back he took a great interest in the railroad I felt privileged to have him visit me.

That B&O bus you see on the bridge came from his layout when he moved.

As for "Blabbermouth", I could hardly be angry with you for using my terminology!

As for the signs, they are even more impressive having seen the closeup shots! It is these kind of details that turn an ordinary scene into something special.

I do remember Ed from the lists. Last I heard he was moving to a smaller place. I have not kept up with the lists since Yahoo changed everything and made them so miserable to work with.

So far today I've done nuthin on the layout not a **** thing, but I did go down to the local nut and bolt shop this morning for a resupply.

I bought 2mm, 2.5mm, 8BA nuts and bolts some 2G self tappers, drill bits, metric 2&2.5mm taps, and some washers of course, had a ball could have stayed there all the morning.

Now to sort out some space in the boxes which are MADE IN AUSTRALIA not China these boxes are made so when the lid is closed and you drop the box the lid is pressed against the compartments and everything doesn't get mixed up resulting in staying in bed for a week sucking a dummy when you could be working on the Railroad.

Yesterday I spent a pleasant couple of hours 2 railing some MTH gondolas and flats I picked up off eBay resulting in the trip today to replenishing my screw supply.

I'm happy.

Thanks Max it's a great shop for small items been going there for years they let you come behind the counter down to the bins and actually show you what they have in stock.

The photo shows some of the cars I have been converting to 2-Rail the tanks are a bit old for the late 50's but hey you have to take what you can get!

I need to put some chocks and chains on next.

Scrap Train at Bay Ridge Yard.

Atlas Gondolas MTH loads.

The loads are made of resin they are to long for Atlas gondolas so I milled 3mm off the ends now they are a nice fit and easy to pull out when they arrive at the foundry.

Back in the "old" days (early fifty's) every thing you looked at in Australia had "Made In England" written on it move along 10 years and everything had "Made In Japan" on it, move right along to the present and everything has "Made In China " on it!

I have some Starrett Micrometers and some Snap On tools but wait a minute!....All my trains come from the USA but most have China written on them!

I like em, only have a foundry on the layout but I have plenty of imagination!.

And the "kit" is getting bigger.

I added two more dead end tracks to the Military Base.

In the photo they are the tracks without ballast.

I work the turnouts in this area with Bluepoint switches so I don't have to change the control panel and it also keeps the wiring to a minimum.
