WOW!
Thanks
Photographer stumbled a bit and grabbed another shot the next week of the westbound Mountaineer with that high stepping Western on the point!
Lookin' good!!!! The PA is the prettiest diesel there is to me.
Magnificent! Your artistic skills rival the great lense men of the steam Era. All you need are captions written by the late David P. Morgan.
Gene
Erik, you are the man for scale model photography.
Nice! Always a treat to view your work Erik.
Huh! Did the 'Grande call their 4-8-4's "Westerns" ? Toss my accolade on the pile, too!
Ditto on Mark S's question. Did they call them "Westerns"? Also, which class is that 4-8-4?
Beautiful, as usual. Thanks for sharing.
Ed
M68 4-8-4, built in 1937-'38. M64's came in 1929.
Guys I am very humbled by your comments.
Personal thank you to all of you guys and those not commenting too I appreciate the comradeship! OGR is a great family, what's better than friends and trains?
M68 as a Western is a name I first heard from John Horan many moons ago while I was at the Union Station o gauge club. John Horan was a founding member of the club joining in the 1940's. I also have a contact print of 1801 from John Maxwell with "Westy" on the back. I heard it again among some old timer Rio Grande foamers. Mike Flauding also called the M68 a Western several times. I asked mike for some clarification on the name too. Kind of where did it originate from etc. I've always known the M68's as Westerns.
Yes the grande called their 4-8-4s Westerns

Now THAT is an amazing photo! Since the power reverse gear is centered, we must assume that this locomotive is being pushed from the rear end?
So what happens when you show too much detail?
Excellent! Love that sunset reflected on the PA's plated sides

Amazing photos Eric!
Erik,
Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. They do look real!
Larry
ALWAYS a real treat to see your work, Erik. Thanks.
Yes, "Western's" rather than "Northerns". Generally accepted wide spread terminology amongst the faithful.
Like many UP folks refer to Mikado's as Mac Arthurs -- started during WWII I -- I think I read somewhere -- not to get us off topic.

Ah that Rocket is out of this world!

Yah Bud! Dave Devita built that for me special request; it's a one if kind delivery era detailing. One of my favorite models I own! Soon ESU loksound!
Thank you Doug!
I'm with all these fantastic shots!
Bravo!
jpv in France
JPV you are too funny..
These are just simple snap shots.
Simple snapshots? I don't think so Erik.
Sometimes I have to rub my eyes to see if they are prototype shots, or not.
It's the work of a humble Genius.
Great photos Erik.

The Dual EMD 12cyl 567C Full Throttle file is available for Loksound L decoders. I still need to do that install on my MILW #15. I guess I'm not ready to test burn a gazzillion miniatronic 1.5v bulbs lol.
I was lucky when I started modelling again about 10 years ago, Erik. DCC had arrived; so I've never had DC.
A lot has changed since then. I used to make my own sound projects for the old Loksound V 3.5's back in the day.
Now there's no need. There is so much good plug 'n play stuff around now.
I wish you well on your new journey.
It's amazing how realistic your photos are!
