Anyone have recommendations for a sound board for a Williams BL-2? I run conventional and am not looking for any command control functions, just engine sound, bell horn etc.

Electric RR has just sound boards that can be used in conventional. Less than 100. I believe.

Yes, and I'm pretty sure the GP7/9 series would be the closest one to use, sound-wise.
Williams makes "true sounds plus" boards that are separate sale items for various engines if you decide to go that route. Prices vary somewhat depending on where purchased.
ERR boards have excellent sound, and the GP-7 and the BL-2 both used the same EMD 567 prime mover, so the engine sounds should be pretty close.
Go with the ERR sound board. You won’t regret it. Unless you become addicted to adding electronics to your trains, like me. Everytime I look at a Williams locomotive, I want to make it better.
