I recently bought an order from EVAN Designs out of Colorado.  An advertiser in the print magazine.  ModelTrainSoftware.com

Fantastic website that helped narrow down what I wanted/needed. Many different options to power the lights, (AC, wall wart, transformer, battery etc).  Bridge rectifier already installed for hassle free AC/DC installment.

Best of all was their prices. Very inexpensive.

Besides the myriad of house and loco lighting, I bought their “campfire” light kit, as well as the “welding” kit.      Very cool.

Check walmart

I got a string of "AA" battery LEDs for $6

My wife confiscated them and put them in an old wine bottle.

Even "Dollar Tree" stores sell battery operated LED strings for a $buck st Christmas time.

Lemax sells a string of bright led for about $7.99 battery operated.

I'm sure they could be converted to transformer use by asking a knowledgeable person on this forum
