Speaker in Boiler

Will EbbertOGR Forum Member SUPPORTING MEMBER

Has anyone ever tried relocating the speaker of a steam locomotive to the boiler? I know one or two of the Vision Line locomotives have had partial sounds in the boiler, but was wondering if anyone had done it themselves or completely moved the sound system to the locomotive itself.

I wouldn't completely move the sound to the locomotive, but Harry Henning put an extra speaker in the boiler of one, and it sounds great with speakers in both places.

My Vision Line Big Boy has two complete sound systems and three speakers. Needless to say, it's the best sound of any locomotive I've ever owned!
