Doing TCS WOW with an old SW9. Need to to find a new oval speaker to install under the top hood grill. Any suggestions on what speaker I should use? Maybe something with extended bass.

I added a Loksound HO Select Direct to my Atlas MP15 and an SW9.
For the MP15, I added two bass reflex speakers, I think from Railmasterhobbies.com. I was going to do the same thing with the Atlas SW9 but had a single DSM8 from Railmaster on hand and added it. It sounds pretty good. I intend to add a second speaker (I have two of these DSM8's in a Weaver E8) to the SW, either the round ones as in the MP15, or see if I can fit two DSM8's. The SW9 has speaker has not been a priority since it sounds very good as it is.

Use the stock Atlas speaker. It worked well for me:
I also used the same Railmaster speaker Bill shows in his pic. Not a Fatboy but probably the best that will fit in that engine. Its better than the Atlas speaker supplied.

I added a stock Atlas speaker into a GP15 and made sure the fuel tank enclosure was sealed and it sounded just fine.
I was worried about the size of the speaker in the MP15DC and, quite frankly, lost it when I ripped that QSI monstrosity out of the engine. The SW had no speaker so I added the DSM8.
But as Jonathan has shown, and my own experience with my GP15, the Atlas speakers work well especially with a sealed enclosure.
I sure like the feature that allows you to play with the horn instead of just a blast. Very nice Jonathan.

Will either of these speakers fit in an Atlas SW 8? The sound in there is terrible......barely audible.
