I'm wondering if it's possible to convince a Legacy engine that a functioning smoke unit is attached. Here is the scenario:
I would like to remove the smoke unit from a Legacy diesel, and use the smoke output to drive a blinking light circuit. The circuit is 555-driven and consumes about 50 mA.
So far I am getting the two blink error when I have the smoke unit removed. Would there be a way to connect the circuit with some other components, so that the smoke output drives the circuit and the RCMC believes that there's a functioning smoke unit?
The stock smoke unit is a 610-1434-210; it has a 5-pin connector (RAW/HTR/FAN/COM/SENS). The RCMC should be a 691RCMC628.
