As promised here are the photos I took of the meet today. They are in order of the path I actually took through the show.

I always start with the largest dealer hall - The Orange Hall:

Walking into the Orange Hall:

Vince's Trains is always the first stop:

Good Lord, if I ever get into another gauge it's going to be G:

All grinning ear to ear, you can tell Brennan's Model Railroading and Millhouse River Studios had an amazing show:

Exiting the Orange Hall we see the grandstands:

Next up is the Brown Hall, my personal favorite:

This happened with a loud crash and an outburst of laughter. Apparently the booth owner did it on purpose:

Leaving the Purple Hall and looking back at the grandstands:

Heading on over to the Black Hall, sometimes called the "Layout Hall":

A Civil War scene I personally thought was awesome:

20140425_124033

Moving on to the Red Hall. Photos have to stop at the outside though, since they are still banned inside member halls.

20140425_124522

Same goes for the White Hall, which is right next door.

20140425_130802

Despite the photo ban people were still snapping away at the layout in the White Hall, so I grabbed one too. In the background to the left you can see the shopping area. All the member halls looked like this. Just more and more rows of train buying heaven:

20140425_131734

And finally, the combined entrance to the Silver and Blue Halls. Once again, member halls so no photos inside these either.

20140425_132911

When the inevitable day comes that photos are allowed in all halls I will be sure to take a comprehensive set of all the member halls too. Hope you've enjoyed the photo tour!

This great Nick and probably a first - Thanks!  A very nice presentation.

I would encourage you to actively ban together with others your age and promote this hobby. Take a good look at the photos again and especially those taken at Tuesday's on Thursday. Very few young people in many of these pics.

YOU and your peers are THE future of the train hobby....

Great job on the photos, Nick.

And so the black curtain of secrecy has been unveiled.  The world didn't stop.  No cataclysmic events occurred.  And  I never even tripped over Nick while he was taking all these pictures.

I'm glad folks who can't make the trip to York now have "some" perspective of what the excitement is all about.  Change is always difficult.  And while it's probably safe to say that some Eastern Division TCA stalwarts are still gritting their teeth about photos being allowed in the dealer halls, it's a change that has been L-O-N-G overdue.

Welcome to 2014, Eastern Division TCA!

David

Thank you Nick for the great photos.  I appreciate you taking the halls one by one, explaining what each was each time you moved to another.  Since I have never been there, I can now visualize what it is like.

And that is a good point.  By allowing photos, I think the TCA has moved the right direction.  It is making someone like me, who lives 4 hours away want to spend the $50 to join TCA and attend the York show.  Although I may not make it for another year, I defiantly want to go.  I say another year because our youngest will finally be out of college.  This weekend comprised 2 evenings of concerts st Grove City College.

Nick, thank you again!

It was my pleasure guys. Now whenever I get a random York itch, I can come back here and scratch it!

Although I just realized I made a glaring omission in the Orange Hall photos - The OGR Booth!  You can see it in the photo below, but if anyone took closer photos of the booth and OGR crew, please please be sure to drop them here!

York is still a thrill...there's just less that I want now than 40 years ago!!!  It's more a social event now...and that's a good thing!!!

Ron,

I like your assessment.  For me, I consider myself an operator, not a collector.  So, I have enough for my small home and small budget.  An upgrade now and then satisfies me.  Then I sell or give away the item that is of lesser personal value to me.  I do need more structures, however.  The social event and just watching great trains run is a powerful event to me.

Thanks for posting.

Bill,

I agree with your analysis.  I too may need to address this.

Yes, thank you to all who posted.  It looks like the event was as Tony the Tiger says, IT'S GREAT!!!
