Last weekend I attended the Springfield IL Train Show at the State Fair grounds. I want to start by saying. Maybe I don't understand what a train show should be like. I found this show was more of a garage sale then a Train show. I saw very few Hobby shops that had boothes. The rest was people bring in there garbage to sell. Thinking that I paid $10 to get into the door early. We need to bring some integrity into these shows. I over heard one vendor complaining about how people don't buy his stuff. Well if you offered a clean product maybe it would sell. For all you who was selling New products' I want to thank you. I spent over $200 at your tables.

You will see the same people at other "shows" with the same stuff. It's another form of the hobby...carrying your stuff from one place to another and set around and bs. I think they enjoy it. Cisco this weekend!
they had fantastic layouts and my favorite the leggo layout, I enjoyed all of them and as is the case there was a fair amount of used and new o gauge for sale. I thought the prices were about what I have seen at other shows, some a little higher all in all I enjoyed it and will return this fall again. Cisco Illinois show is next, March 16 & 17
Sounds like DuPage County Fairgrounds.
The show at Harper College, Palatine is more of a show, with running trains.
Maybe somebody can comment on Trainfest.
Yes the Layout were good. My issue I am finding some people are selling alot of Garage type products
I guess I need to go to a show like what there have in York Pa.
Well, I enjoy stopping by shows like you originally described, even if something like York with the manufacturers there is often much better.
I seldom spend much time at the clinics or looking at the layouts on display, but I do like to looking over the offerings for sale, and I have not left any recent show empty-handed.
It's true that there is a core of people I seem to see at every meeting, but they turn over their inventory of offerings and there is always something new to see.
