This is probably a vague question, but I'm hoping someone can tell me the dimensions of a "standard" brick used in construction.  I have a factory front for which I am trying to derive dimensions.  Your help is appreciated.

I'm suspecting that the length is 8" and width is 4", but it could just as easily be 9" and 3" respectively.  Hope someone can confirm.

Thanks,

George

Thanks Joe! I was just thinking today about how I'm going to scratch build the chimney on the train station I'm building and I wanted to attempt the Les Lewis method of using actual properly sized styrene pieces spaced and glued to a substrate. And you just gave me the size that I need to use for these. I wouldn't want to do what Les does in building an entire structure this way, but for one chimney I can probably do it.
