Standard O tubular track

I got lucky a few years ago and got two complete 0-72 tubular loops and then had a local train store selling straight pieces of standard for $2 a piece, of which I bought about 12. Years later, the store is sold out and ebay is a mess of people selling O-27 straight pieces as standard for $5+ etc. Has standard, heavier O gauge tubular really become rare now? This is the track system I've settled on, and have my MTH and Lionel control systems and switches operating properly on. I just want another dozen or so straight pieces. Any clue what's going on with standard tubular these days?

Menards offers it new. I think you will still find it at train shows. Also check Craigslist. Post to want to buy forum here.

Is the Menard's the higher, heavier "standard" O? That's the problem I'm running into - sellers keep saying "standard O gauge" and it's actually the thinner O-27 stuff. I'm running big MTH Premier steam trains and the floppy O-27 just can't handle it and doesn't mate with the O-72 curve pieces. Is real standard O-gauge tubular actually going for $5+ a piece now?

Menards is standard "O". It has a different appearance than Lionel (number of ties on curves and level of polish or plating), but it mates with Lionel and K-Line.
