IMG_4092IMG_4093IMG_4094I don’t have many. I love my trains.
I had limited access to the trainroom over the holidays. I had ordered a Christmas Lite Express for upstairs. It’s a shame we can’t find  the one add on car for that set?2028300?  After it came in I wasn’t able to go upstairs for awhile. I ended up ordering eight sections of 0’31 curve. It came in on Xmas Eve. I set it up on dining room table and am still running trains on it. I eventually over the last couple of weeks brought down a 990 and a power master. It’s easier to service here than upstairs. I’ll eventually remove this loop and go back to the test track that I had made. 🤔 Is there a better hobby?

Over the years I've transitioned from post war to mostly full scale 3 rail equipment. I still have a few however that are favorites:  The Super O General 1872, 1947 Berkshire 726, and a prewar 1666 with a few tinplate cars. First train was Christmas 1949 in New Orleans with this American Flyer set headed by a PRR K5 #310. Photo below of me with it on the porch of our home. Still have the set and this Gilbert American Flyer 326 Hudson 4-6-4

Modern era steamers include a Williams PRR T1

K-Line Hudson 5344

Legacy PRR K4

Lionel C&O 2-10-4 'Texan'

MTH 2-8-2 Southern Mikado 4501

Well, I'm not surprised that the Drill Sergeant has those engines in "dress right dress" order!

Steam rosters?  Oh my.  While I may be known for my GG1 collection, I do have a soft spot for steam locomotives too.  Nice collection @obxtrainman!  My roster has some postwar locomotives with a 1964 773, 2026, 736, 681, and a 2035.  Only the 773 is in the kind of condition to make it collectible.  However, I do have a large collection of 1:48 scale locomotives in 2 and 3 rail.  Most are brass with probably half of them in the "budget brass" category from Weaver and Williams.  My oldest O locomotive is a Walther's Mikado from 1941 that I'm in the process of rebuilding.  It's been quite the restoration project as my soldering skills are not up to par on brass / metal locomotives.

What? That's it? Amateur....!

In fact, I wish that I had had more restraint. Really. Your roster above would have been considered unimaginably vast when i was a kid; unthinkable.  Even if all of what you have had even been available. You show 8 locos - in a rational world that would be plenty.

But, for several years now I have been (almost entirely) a recovering trainaholic.

Paul, that's a terrific presentation having the brutes pass one at a time in your video!  Is that a 'smoke free zone' perchance?

Yes, Sam… my house is a smoke free zone!!! The smell reminds me of petroleum. One of the first things I do with a new engine is to turn off all smoke. I will admit that I did try the smoke units on my Lionel BigBoy (the first run). I wanted to check out the whistle smoke and the alternating smoke from the 2 main stacks. The smell hung in the air for a week
