Just wanted to share a few snaps of the latest E5 production by 3rd Rail. I worked closely with Scott making sure the builder had all the info/research to get these to a brass level of accuracy. In my opinion, the result is phenomenal. Enjoy the pictures!

Thanks for sharing Santiago. Looking forward to your next project.

Santiago, a beautiful creation! The surprise shot of the automobile with the E5 was awesome.

1940 Packard Super 8..... appropriate! 😊
Very nice Santiago!!
Mine came Friday. Didn't get much time out of the box with it as I was reorganizing all my 3rd Rail items that live in the house, but it is a wonderful locomotive. Thanks for all the effort Santiago and for the great photos.
Now to begin the journey of finding appropriate cars for it. I want to something a little different than just a bunch of Atlas CZ cars.

SantiagoP23, I LOVE your shadowless lighting! Very nicely done. Your photos are top shelf, professional imagery.
Well done.
Thanks, Melvin! Pretty much learned from Erik Lindgren, he sets the standard in scale model photography... he also exposed me to 2 rail and the high end of the hobby... ugh the forum is not the same without him, you know?
Hats off to Scott AND his builder... I wouldn’t be in O scale if it wasn’t for them!

Now there are the types of cars I'm looking to pull behind my E5. Is there a back issue of the Burlington Bulletin that might cover some of these mixed consists?
I agree Santiago. I miss Erik's postings here as well.
Jonathan, you may want to look into the nocturnal Zephyr-Rocket train... a shorter train with both HW/LW equipment

Absolutely agree with you. El es el mejor con una camara. He is the best. And to think he lived 25 miles from me and I didn't know it.

I “second” this idea. Also, might suggest GGD making just the various observation cars found on the TCZ, KCZ/ARZ, DZ, and even the “domeless” obs from the Texas Zephyr.
¿qué dices?
Owing to the fact I do not need even ONE MORE train car, I would surely reserve all four.
A quick wash leaves a SILVER ARROW good as new before she continues her trip out west. Models by Oriental Limited, American Scale Models and Sunset 3rd Rail.

Agree!!! There’s plenty to choose from in Burlington land!!!

Guys, please check out the latest copy of OST. In it, I goo deep into the process of reviewing these engines as well as illustrating the consulting work I did for 3rd Rail with this production.
Hope you find it interesting!

Santiago, was that photo taken in 1946? I don't recognize the exact location, but it looks like it's somewhere in Iowa? What really sticks out is the "Buy War Bonds" coach. Great photo.

The "Buy War Bonds" coach stood out for me as well. That is one I'd like to paint for my train if I ever get back to my own modeling. Still have two donor coaches waiting to hit the paint shop to be painted silver with FW&D markings.
Always enjoy your photos.

Ray, happy to report that this photo was taken in 2023 somewhere in Bogota, Colombia. 😊
Santiago, you fooled me and many others AGAIN. Your photography, staging and models are outstanding.
You should post this on the BRHS web page.

Thanks, Ray! I finished that car for my presentation at the Denver O scale National Convention. I’d like to publish that project soon!
I had the chance to visit the IRM just after the convention. Meeting Silver Pilot was a dream come true.
