And this other one..............

Thanks, JPV. I'm quite pleased to have completed this car project. Now I can sit and wait for Scott's E5s!
Santiago,
What is the logic behind the wheelsets? Did they ride and roll better? I have had the chance to ride the Cuzco to Macchu Picchu narrow gauge to see the ruins and then in Chile (where my wife is from) (de donde viene mi esposa), from Santiago south to Curico. 5' welded rail. Loved it.

Dick, Allied trucks were designed primarily for hi-speed passenger service. The cushioning was aimed at minimizing freight damage. However they earned a reputation for derailing and were outlawed in the 50's.
I'm thrilled to have this project featured in Gene's blog. Gene is an accomplished artist, and to say that I admire his work would be a major understatement. I'm thankful.
As a youthful lad, remember seeing Allied truck-equipped "jeeps" (nickname the Burlington gave the modified WWII kitchen cars acquired post-war for baggage-mail-express work) flying through my hometown of Hinsdale, IL. Always thought Allied trucks had a very serious and formidable appearance - a life time favorite !
Agree, Mark!
I enjoy your posts!
Santiago,
I live 120 miles from Lincoln, Nebraska in Sioux City, Iowa and have seen the Havelock Shops in Lincoln but only from the outside.
Dick
That's awesome, Dick!
Thank, John!
Like the above photo. The XM32's "towered" over conventional passenger equipment, including the converted WWII Army kitchen cars that the Burlington acquired, and converted into Baggage-Mail-Express cars.
Santiago,
You do such beautiful work and have so many beautiful CB&Q models. Have you considered, or have you built, a CB&Q model railroad to display and run your collection? I encourage it and think you would enjoy it.
MELGAR
Thanks sir! I do have a couple of display cases and I enjoy them very much. Rails does a lot of keeping out for...
MELGAR, I read your post on my phone and misread it. Sorry. I do have a small layout, but I don't enjoy running as much. My passion is in modeling and collecting. If you go to my O5A thread, you'll see some equipment on the move!

The car is stunning and I loved your article about it too. Keep up the great work! I have a soft spot for the CB&Q.
Thanks!
