June 14, 2014 – Successful Special Event in Conway, AR - BSA Activity
The LCCA had another successful SPECIAL EVENT, a Train Open House Event in Conway, AR, on Saturday (6-14-14), the day immediately before Father's Day. LCCA’s TLR Editor, Mike Mottler worked with local Scoutmaster, Johnny Davidson, to promote this TOH activity to all Scouts -- Cub scouts, Boy Scouts, Explorer Scouts (ages 7 to 21) -- throughout the Quapaw Council in the central AR area. We had a very good turnout!
Further, we announced a path to participation in a LCCA/Lionel Modular RR Layout project as an activity that will meet one of the requirements for the BSA merit badge. Please contact Mike Mottler at 501 327-8747 if you are a scout and have an interest in participating in the construction of a Lionel/LCCA FasTrack Modular Railroad section. We are planning to have a LCCA/Lionel FasTrack Modular Railroad layout built for future shows and activities in the Conway AR area.
The LCCA donated a Lionel BSA train set to a lucky father and son for winning the train layout building contest. Kids along with their parents enjoyed the hands-on Boxtown paper building activity.
Thank you Mike Mottler, Johnny Davidson, Quapaw Council and all of the scouts and families that attended and participated in this worthwhile LCCA Special Event. We look forward to seeing your progress with your LCCA/Lionel FasTrack Modular RR layout.
Sincerely,
Al Kolis
